Rudolf Neudörfer learnt bow making in the violin making town of Luby that prior to 1946 was in the region known as Schönbach. He went on to work as a master bow maker in the workshop of Otto Seifert in Bubenruth and then from 1968 - 1973 for Siegfried Finkel in Brienz, Switzerland. In 1983 and 1986 Neudörfer was awarded certificates of merit for his bows in the Violin Society of America bow making competition and in each of the 1983 and 1986 national bow making competitions in Wiesbaden he won a gold medal for his violin bows.

This well-crafted silver-mounted bow is made in the style of Vigneron (the top half of the stick has an octagonal feel while the underside is round - a mixture of two bows really).

In the hand the bow feels well balanced and comfy. On the string the bow produces a good quality sound.

Another positive is that it is in fabulous condition.
